The 163-bed G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, named after the former U.S. representative and veterans advocate, provides primary and secondary medical, surgical, neurological, and psychiatric inpatient care to more than 45,000 patients. Its primary service area is home to more than 125,000 veterans.
The garage was designed and constructed as part of the VA’s $21M co-location of the Jackson, MS and St. Petersburg, FL regional offices. WGI served as structural engineer and parking consultant for the 505-space, post-tensioned concrete parking structure. The garage primarily serves employees and accounts for nearly a third of the medical center’s parking supply.
