The parking garage is located at 800 Pearl Street in Denver, Colorado. The structure was completed in 1979 and consists of a basement level and a single supported slab at grade level. The garage provides parking for approximately 185 vehicles. The precast structure consists of two levels, and the elevated level has a tennis court area. The parking garage was in moderate condition with minor concrete deterioration and areas of leaking throughout. The tennis court, located above the basement parking, was worn and leaking throughout.
WGI performed an evaluation of the structure to identify areas of deterioration, make recommendations for repair, and develop an estimate of construction cost.
The Owner contracted WGI to develop construction documents, assist in bidding, and perform construction administration services based on WGI’s report’s recommendations. Repairs included miscellaneous concrete repairs, shear connector repairs, joint sealant replacement, and deck coating installation. Additionally, the existing tennis court was stripped and a new waterproofing and tennis court surface was installed.
The work was phased to maintain the required number of parking spaces during construction. Signage and barricades were utilized during construction to maintain traffic flow.
At WGI, we creatively transform how our world is envisioned, designed, and experienced. Our expert team of professional engineers is ready to help.
