WGI updated the Conservation Element in the City’s Comprehensive Plan and created a Community Health Element. This included updating and creating the data, analysis, goals, objectives, and policies. WGI coordinated with City staff to create GIS maps to comply with state statute and improve the useability of the elements by the City and community.
The Community Health Element focused on access to recreation, healthcare, and healthy food. WGI identified opportunities and barriers and collected data on the community’s social, physical, and mental well-being. The team analyzed planning approaches to provide healthy options for individuals, communities, institutions, and businesses.
For the Conservation Element, WGI evaluated existing and future conditions and needs related to valuable natural communities and the protection of resources. WGI reviewed existing data for resource protection, conservation, sustainability, and resiliency needs, and benchmarked, updated, and analyzed the data and analysis. WGI integrated updated resilience planning design approaches and environmental sustainability into the element.
