WGI provided site planning and environmental services for the Hobe Sound Early Learning Center in unincorporated Martin County, Florida. The site is 7.44 acres and positioned on the northeast corner between SE Dixie Highway and SE Bridge Road. The objectives for this project were to create additional amenity space and enhance the overall site circulation. To accomplish this, WGI provided conceptual designs, including three new portable classrooms, a new bus drop-off area, and a 2,400 square-foot rubber playground area. Due to the sizable upland area located in the western portion of the property, WGI’s environmental team was tasked with providing information regarding soils, the existing vegetation, and the presence of any threatened or endangered species.
The surrounding neighborhood is comprised of single-family residential, various schools, including Hobe Sound Elementary, and commercial and vacant land. This development is a great addition to the existing urban fabric of the community and will benefit the overall function of the site.
