IKE Smart City (IKE) launched in Denver with the goal of building a wayfinding and city communication system for the digital age and delivering it in a self-sustaining business model, requiring no investment from cities. Today, the platform is expanding nationwide. IKE has installed these kiosks across the country, including in St. Louis, Missouri, Baltimore, Maryland, San Antonio, Texas with Miami and Tampa, Florida joining the list. The mission of the smart city initiative is to improve the quality of life for all residents and businesses. The kiosks effort is one of many efforts that puts new innovative smart city technology into the hands of residents and visitors. Each kiosk can provide wayfinding, provide event and civic resource information, serve an emergency contact point for weather and amber alerts, and more.
WGI partnered with IKE SMART CITY to provide engineering design, permitting and construction administration services for the installation of digital kiosks throughout the Miami and Tampa, Florida area. To accomplish this goal, we leveraged our relationships through the area including with groups such as:
-
FDOT (Florida Dept of Transportation)
-
THEA (Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority)
-
TECO (Tampa Electric)
-
FP&L (Florida Power & Light)
