IL RT. 3 at Delmar Avenue / Pierce Lane

WGI performed the 1st SUE project for IDOT District 8 in southern Illinois. The project involved the designation of all subsurface utilities (SUE Quality Level B) for the design of a new roundabout at IL Rt. 3 and Delmar Avenue/ Pierce Lane in Godfrey, Illinois 

Project Highlights: 

• Apart from being our first assignment for IDOT District 8, this project was also our first 3D modeling submittal for the district and our first 3D SUE request for the district. Although our crew chief Mikey Sanchez has worked in the Illinois element for the past 16 years, it is always challenging to work with snow on the ground as utility features get covered up making it difficult to find. Even with the added challenges from Mother Nature, our crews closely coordinated their efforts with our minority survey partner and managed to produce quality work.
