Kelsey Park Master Plan

 Originally designed by the Olmsted Brothers in 1923, Kelsey Park was reimagined by WGI as part of the Town of Lake Park’s centennial celebration. Through careful site analysis and extensive community engagement that included multi-linguistic outreach to local schools and churches, WGI developed a master plan that preserved the park’s historic character while organizing it into five distinct zones—waterfront, great lawn, gateway plaza, children’s area, and sports center—to create a flexible, vibrant, and inclusive multi-use space. A key feature was the new dynamic intercoastal seawall with a monumental staircase, fishing platforms, and a living shoreline that enhances resiliency to sea level rise and provides new recreational and ecological opportunities.
