WGI revised the County’s code, focusing on Article III: Zoning and Land Use, and Article VII: Sign Regulations. The team aligned updates with the County’s comprehensive plan and state statutes, coordinating closely with County staff to resolve conflicts and inconsistencies.
The County prioritized integrating key elements from existing master plans and design guidelines. WGI incorporated best practices to support new industries, redevelopment incentives, and green building standards. To improve clarity, the team introduced new tables and graphics.
Public engagement was central to the process. WGI led four community workshops and held sessions with the Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners to build trust and transparency.
