Electrical engineering services for the complete campus-side replacement of the existing fire alarm system on this large, multi-building high school campus. The new system is a voice-annunciated system to replace and upgrade the old horn-type system to meet the current code. Services provided include extensive on-site observation of existing conditions to locate all of the existing devices, find appropriate locations for new control panels, determine the routing of raceways, and layout our new devices.
The system is integrated with an exterior mass communication system for large area broadcast of alarms. Construction documents were produced with two intermediate review submittals. Final bid/construction documents included demolition plans, site plans, building plans with all new devices laid out, fire alarm riser diagrams, sequence of operations, details, and complete technical specifications. WGI performed bid phase services including a prebid meeting and full construction administration services with substantial and final completion inspections.
