The LOVE Park garage is located at 1501 JFK Boulevard in Philadelphia. It was constructed in 1964 and is a 4-level below-grade parking structure with a footprint that extends beneath a public park and three (3) City streets.
Conventionally reinforced cast-in-place concrete flat slabs with drop panels, concrete foundation walls, and columns garage. Heavily reinforced it was also designed to serve as a fallout shelter.
Project Highlights
- Full slab replacement of portions of the east end of the structure.
- Localized partial depth concrete repairs throughout the structure.
- Construction of new elevators and stairs near the east end of the garage with a glass-enclosed lobby at the park level. ($3,8M)
- Reconstruction of entrance ramps.
- Application of silane water repellent on the parking decks.
- Carbon fiber reinforcement of deficient concrete column.
- Steel stair repairs.
