As Lutheran Hospital continued to grow, so did the need for parking, and for that reason, two parking structures replaced surface lots at the north and south ends of the campus.
The North Parking Structure is a 472-space facility providing patient/visitor parking and private, lower-level parking for the physicians, secluded from the patient/visitor parking with architectural screening between the first two levels.
Precast lintels and caps were incorporated into the hand-laid brick exterior to create a natural-looking limestone appearance that complements the main buildings on campus.
The South Parking Structure at Lutheran Hospital was the second of two new parking structures built on the Lutheran Hospital campus in a little over a year. The South Parking Structure’s brick exterior mimics the North Parking Structure, which complements the existing hospital.
The South Parking Structure is a 588-space facility providing patient and visitor parking. It was built in conjunction with an expansion of the hospital structure. The parking structure opening coincided with the opening of a new cancer treatment facility and medical office building. Fast-track construction helped the hospital meet its visitors’ immediate parking needs by replacing a surface parking lot on the south end of the campus with this facility.
