Parkview Health System is a dynamic regional medical system with a growing campus at the Parkview Regional Medical Center site. The Medical Center is expanding with a new Cancer Center, Heart Tower, and expanded outpatient services. The new buildings eliminated surface parking lots and increased the number of vehicles on campus. With over 4,000 parking spaces already, campus planners determined whether expanded shuttle service or parking structures would provide the highest level of service and most flexibility for the future.
The WGI developed future parking demand estimates based on the existing parking load and the campus master plan. The project team also created a parking structure and shuttle lot options for comparison. The Medical Center chose to expand employee parking through the shuttle service to provide the most flexibility for future land use.
