The City of Columbia Major Pipeline Rehabilitation Project is a multi-year program that includes the assessment, rehabilitation method alternatives analysis, preliminary and final design, and construction services support including documentation preparation and technical specification development of 108,000 linear feet of 15 to 54-inch sanitary sewer infrastructure. The project is part of the City of Columbia Clean Water 2020 program, in response to a Consent Decree with the EPA for sanitary sewer overflows. Inspections and investigation information were evaluated, site access and construction feasibility performed, and rehabilitation method alternative analysis to develop recommendations for the design phase. In the design phase, secondary analysis of method verification, site survey and geotechnical analysis completed in developing plan and contract documents. Technical specifications developed for identified methods including Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP), Geopolymer Lining, Pipe Bursting, and lateral and manhole rehabilitation methods. Lateral rehabilitation guidance decision process developed for application during construction. Easement needs identification and coordination for construction and O&M. Construction document preparation, project phasing, site access identification, and construction cost estimating.
