Mckee Place Restoration of Façade

McKee Place property comprises 15 multi-unit apartment buildings near the University of Pittsburgh campus in Pittsburgh, PA. In general, there are two types of balcony structures present in apartment buildings: wood framed with a concrete surface (un-reinforced) and structural steel framed with a reinforced concrete slab surface. 

PGR retained WGI to perform a condition evaluation of the balcony structures and provide repair recommendations. The review included the level one knee wall, the concrete balcony slab, guardrails, mortar joints, columns, and each balcony’s general stability.
