This project consists of the construction of an ethanol railcar offloading facility located in the busy Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The railcar offloading facility will allow delivery of ethanol railcars directly into existing storage tanks, minimizing the number of transports required to reach the South Florida market, thus reducing consumer costs. Professional surveying services included horizontal and vertical control surveys, construction layout surveys, and as-built surveys for construction of the facility. This includes new railroad tracks, accessory building, roadway and parking, overhead piping & racks, a drainage retention system, spill containment ponds, fire suppression systems, and utilities. All field personnel were required to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) for access and security clearance at the Port.
