Palm Beach Outlets

WGI provided survey services for the construction of the 84-acre Outlet Mall, located in West Palm Beach on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, just east of I-95. Survey work began with setting and verifying horizontal and vertical control points as well as checking the boundary corners for any conflicts. Over the next year field crews staked building pads, utilities, parking throughout the site and at all phases of construction. As-built Surveys were completed as soon as the utilities were installed and submitted to the City of West Palm Beach for review and approval. Due to the aggressive schedule, timing of survey layout and as-builts were key to the overall success.

The project replaced the original Palm Beach Mall which opened in 1967. The original mall was the largest and first fully enclosed, air-conditioned mall in the Southeastern United States. Developers New England Development and Eastern built the Palm Beach Outlets to include an open-air outlet center and an adjacent shopping center featuring a dynamic mix of national retail tenants. Phase I opened in the Winter of 2014 and houses over 1 million square feet of retail space.
