Project Details

This 740-space eight-level parking structure provides parking for the City of Norfolk and Norfolk Southern Corporation, a shipping and transportation company, as part of a revitalization effort downtown.

The façade is compatible with that of the Norfolk Southern Tower across Main Street. A pedestrian bridge connects the parking structure to the fourth floor of Norfolk Southern Corporation’s headquarters. Two levels of retail/office space are featured on street level.

Project Highlights:

• Two-bay single helix with two-way vehicular traffic
• Nested parking for Norfolk Southern users with security controls in the elevator tower directly accessing the pedestrian bridge
• Enhanced lighting and glass-backed elevators
• Precast/prestressed concrete framing system with factory-topped double tees and structural precast spandrels
