To consolidate parking from several surface lots at the busy Colorado Springs Police Department, the City of Colorado Springs built a parking structure adjacent to its office building. Design criteria for this secured facility cited a need for about 420 spaces to accommodate a mix of bomb squad units, marshal vans, crime scene investigation trucks and underwater search & recovery units, as well as sheriff and employee vehicles. By providing a 20-foot clearance height at the lower level and optimizing stall locations, a total of 528 spaces were provided.
