St. Francis Medical Center conducted a parking study to prepare upcoming changes significant to the parking on campus. These changes included the demolition of Garage 1 and removing the existing sky bridge, resulting in a permanent parking supply reduction. Located in Downtown Monroe, Louisiana, St. Francis Medical Center has two parking garages dedicated to the hospital, several dedicated parking lots, and public, on-street parking throughout campus. WGI assessed the current supply and demand across campus (on and off-street) and modeled projected impacts on parking supply based on the upcoming construction. Working closely with hospital administrators, parking management solutions were recommended to manage existing and future parking more efficiently while considering operational resources and patient, doctor, nurse, and staff experience. The WGI team also assessed the current pedestrian access and designed a plan to redirect pedestrian traffic during the construction and after removing the sky bridge.
