WGI provided peer review and oversight of a draft comprehensive plan for several Seminole Tribe of Florida Reservations and Settlements. Our work included a review of the existing conditions and how the Tribe’s culture, tradition, and history are honored and carried on through proposed goals, objectives, and policies for each plan. WGI also provided review and recommendations for the plans, maps, stakeholder presentations, and outreach survey questionnaires. These efforts assisted the Tribe in preparing their first comprehensive plan; one that will be representative of the Tribe’s goals, supported by Tribal members, and directs action to carry the Tribe into the next decade.
As a sovereign entity, the Seminole Tribe of Florida is not subject to the Community Planning Act (163.3161, Florida Statutes). Therefore, this is a voluntary effort initiated by the Tribe.
