Sioux City Municipal Parking Garage B
The structure was completed in 1973 and accommodated 795 vehicles. The structure is cast-in-place with a precast column is a three-bay single helix and consists of six supported levels and an on-grade level. Parking Garage B was suffering from localized concrete spalling and failed post-tensioning tendons.
WGI developed a repair program that provided for the replacement of expansion joints, the installation of a new deck coating system to the entire floor slab surface, and an upgrade of the stairs and interior barrier strands to meet code requirements.
Sioux City Municipal Parking Garage D
The structure was completed in 1976 and accommodated 760 vehicles. The structure is cast-in-place with a precast column and is a two-bay double helix with six supported levels and an on-grade level.
The restoration by WGI included removal and replacement of the top three inches of concrete slab, including reinforcing steel. The restoration also included installing new surface-mounted electrical conduit throughout, replacement of expansion joints, and installing a new deck coating system.
