The City of University Park engaged WGI to assess parking conditions in the 10-block area of Snider Plaza, a popular destination for shopping, restaurants, and more. The study’s purpose was to find workable solutions to alleviate parking congestion.
During periods of peak activity, it was found that parking and traffic were very congested, and parking demand exceeded available inventory. Employees and visitors were encroaching on the parking located in the residential neighborhood west of Snider Plaza.
The study supported parking expansion, a program to manage existing resources better, and a defined program to promote alternative modes of transportation for Snider Plaza.
