This project was a fast-paced assignment that had to be completed within 30 days. The project consisted of verifying existing survey data, setting site stationing, and providing point data of the beginning surface, milled surface, and after the first and final lifts were paved. Data had to be gathered, checked, processed and delivered the same day to the client in an Excel spreadsheet format so it could be uploaded into the “PaveSmart” computer guided system. After repairs and paving of the 6,300-foot runway and adjacent taxiways were completed, crews provided layout for the striping and runway markings. Because this project was for an active airport, field personnel had to go through background checks and a FAA Ground Safety Class.
