Student Parking Deck III Central Piedmont Community College

Client:
Central Piedmont Community College
Market:
Education, Higher Education, Parking
Location:
Charlotte, North Carolina

Project Details

Central Piedmont Community College’s 1,002-space Student Parking Deck III stands at the west end of an esteemed historical neighborhood bordering this rapidly growing urban campus in the heart of Charlotte. This mixed-use structure successfully solved a dire parking problem for the college while seamlessly complementing the architectural fabric of the campus and surrounding community that it serves. The deck further serves the City of Charlotte as an integral community link for Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation by connecting the Historic Independence Park to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway and encompassing a small pocket park at the stadium entrance that brings the Historic Doughboy statue back to its original location, honoring World War I veterans.

This project received the International Parking Institute 2012 Award of Merit.
