University Medical Center El Paso Parcs Implementation

Client:
University Medical Center El Paso
Market:
Hospitals, Medical Office Buildings
Location:
El Paso, TX

Project Details

Based on recommendations from a prior study conducted by WGI focusing on increased parking demand due to hospital growth and parkers from a neighboring teaching university, UMC El Paso took additional proactive measures to improve its parking supply efficiencies. WGI led the effort for UMC to procure a Parking Access and Revenue Control System for their Visitor Garage. To provide a turnkey solution, WGI conducted a needs assessment of the current garage and conducted onsite observations. This included internal stakeholder meetings amongst hospital departments and administration and resulted in multiple design options for the equipment. WGI worked with the project team to determine technological requirements and specifications. WGI led the review and scoring efforts as a non-voting participant. Interviews and scoring matrixes were created by WGI to aid the review panel in comparing all submittals while considering the overall goals and requirements of the project. In addition to project management, WGI coordinated hospital training efforts and created parking policies and procedures for approximately 20 departments within UMC. Upon completing the project, parking best practices and the operational manual were explicitly made to the UMC Parking Operation and delivered to the hospital as a reference for ongoing training.
