The University of Texas at El Paso retained WGI to conduct a campus parking allocation study that included reviewing existing conditions and parking policies and identifying potential parking allocation options. The university provided parking system data, and additional input was solicited from the campus community through three workshop sessions with designated stakeholder groups. Further direction and input were provided by an advisory project team of university officials.
The primary goal of this study was to provide recommendations on how to improve the campus parking system in terms of allocation and management and create an action plan for the implementation of these recommendations.
After having reviewed potential parking allocation alternatives, final recommendations were developed. The recommendations were designed to address the primary concerns/challenges noted during the study process and help improve the efficiency of the parking system.
• Campus parking field review and two on-site parking planning workshops
• Parking system guiding principles
• Review possible parking allocation alternatives and identify special user needs and expectations
• Parking allocation challenges and constraints
• Ensure parking allocation strategies align with campus needs and goals
