Verano is a 2,411-acre master-planned community in the City of San Antonio (CoSA), with Texas A&M San Antonio sitting at its center and driver. WGI provided planning and engineering consulting to identify a master plan for the campus, which included over 3,300 single-family and multifamily units, 75 acres of the commercial town center, 20 acres of school space, over 42 acres of activated greens spaces, and room for over 800 acres of preserve, research facilities, and industrial development.
The industrial portion of the project includes 562 acres of master-planned industrial park, including regional roadways, floodplain, and drainage infrastructure, regional utility design, and master planning entitlements. Additionally, WGI coordinated conversations with Union Pacific to provide a schematic plan for rail service on-site if necessary and coordinated directly with CPS to provide the space for a dedicated substation for the long-term site development.
