Village on the Green

Client:
Lifespace Communities
Market:
Development
Location:
Seminole County, FL

Project Details

As consultant for Lifespace Communities, WGI provided planning, environmental, survey, and engineering services for the expansion of this 75-acre adult living facility. The improvements included the expansion of the existing Village on the Green campus by adding 20 residential living villas, 40 assisted living apartments, an 18- unit memory support wing, a 48-bed replacement skilled nursing center, expansion of the residential living commons, and parking and access reconfigurations. The application also included improvements to open space for the residents, wetland mitigation, and coordination meetings with adjacent existing developments.

The expansion was accommodated through the conversion and redevelopment of a portion of a former golf course. As part of the process, WGI worked closely with the property owner to ensure that impacts were mitigated, through thoughtful master planning and site planning, and through a strong communication and public outreach campaign. The development team secured entitlements through Seminole County that ultimately allowed for the expansion, and change of use from a golf course, to an adult living facility.
