Location:

Project Details

As part of a multi-phase project, WGI was hired to provide design and consulting services to the Village Of Palm Springs to add or improve their pathways connecting the Village’s seven maintained parks. The project was developed to provide a pedestrian greenway with amenities connecting the Village’s numerous parks and to encourage a healthy lifestyle for residents. WGI worked with the Village to develop the program and phasing of the project into four separate segments; developed design concepts for the hardscape, signage, site amenities, and landscape treatment; and then developed full construction drawings for all four phases.

WGI was hired to provide landscape architecture, survey, and electrical design services for all phases of the project. WGI’s survey department provided design support for 12 linear miles through the heart of the Village. WGI utilized mobile LiDAR, a complete mobile mapping, and survey solution, to collect accurate and detailed data through sensors due to the length of the project and alternative routes that could be implemented. The entire project was captured in a single day and allowed the designers the flexibility to adjust their plans without burdening the budget by requiring supplemental purchase orders for additional fieldwork. WGI also researched and field verified the historical right-of-way and created a baseline of the survey for all 12 miles of right-of-way.
