Virginia Commonwealth University Bowe Street Parking Deck

On the periphery of Virginia Commonwealth University’s downtown campus is the Bowe Street Parking Deck. This deck provides parking for the Sports Medicine Building, which houses VCU Athletics, including athletic training facilities, a medical clinic, a multi-purpose indoor facility, and the School of the Arts for both faculty/staff and students. The design also featured 34,000-square-feet of occupied space for teaching, studio and computer lab spaces for the School of the Arts, in addition to a 6,000-square-foot weight-training facility for the Department of Athletics.

Specific architectural elements were incorporated in the deck to create a cohesive look amongst the existing buildings in the area.
