Wachovia Center Parking Garage Restoration

WGI completed a condition appraisal of the Wachovia Center Parking Structure — a five-level precast concrete structure constructed in 1996 — to assess its general condition and provide the owner with recommendations for initial repairs, anticipated future repairs, and maintenance necessary to maintain the integrity of the facility. 

WGI reviewed the parking structure and outlined several issues impacting the structure’s durability, noting the following items of concern: joint sealant failure; exposed and corroding slab reinforcing; concrete spalling/cracking of precast members; railing problems, and other miscellaneous items. The owner has proceeded with a phased, multi-year repair program, with WGI providing construction documents and construction administration services based on these findings.
