At the time of our original evaluation, the Wells Street parking garage exhibited severe and widespread concrete deterioration with damage above the beams so advanced that their structural integrity was of concern. As part of our evaluation, WGI performed material testing and structural calculations to assess the condition of the structure, particularly the beams. Following our review, a prioritized repair plan was developed to address the required repairs and provide suitable waterproofing protection to meet the client’s objectives and budgetary needs. 

WGI designed and implemented repairs to the structure, including phasing limitations, to maintain required levels of parking at all times during construction and minimize disruption to the neighboring hotel. The program included extensive slab repairs, concrete beam strengthening, and installation of a new bonded concrete overlay and deck coating to maximize longevity.
