Construction Update: SR 417 and FL Turnpike Interchange

Just south of Orlando, FL the first sections of the ramp A2 steel box girders are being placed at SR 417 and the Florida Turnpike Interchange. 417 Turnpike Construction WGI’s Senior Project Engineer, Anthony Nguyen is acting as the engineer of record (EOR) for this third level 1,882-foot flyover with a maximum span of 270 feet. Structural engineers from WGI’s Transportation Division all contributed to the accelerated production of the calculations and plans for this major steel bridge. 417 Turnpike Construction The final structure will carry two lanes of traffic northbound on the Turnpike to SR 417. This bridge and the adjacent ramp C2 flyover are a part of the $177M Turnpike Widening Project in Orange and Osceola County. WGI’s South Florida Transportation Regional Manager, Keegan Larson, is the project manager.
