That’s why we were both honored and excited to participate in a recent string of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) – Road to Your Future hiring events, a groundbreaking initiative launched in 2024 to support Florida’s rapidly expanding transportation workforce.

These first-of-their-kind hiring events, hosted across multiple regions across the state and supported by over 140 industry partners, were designed to introduce job seekers to the many career paths within the transportation sector, ranging from engineering and construction to surveying, administrative roles, and beyond.

As one of the sponsoring and participating firms, WGI was proud to represent both our organization and our industry as a whole, connecting with talented aspiring professionals, engaging with our client, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and collaborating with peers from across the state.

The events created a welcoming, accessible space for people of diverse professional backgrounds to explore opportunities in the transportation field.

We met with a wide range of attendees, including students, experienced professionals, and career-changers, many of whom expressed interest in engineering services varying from geospatial to internships. We also welcomed a wide range of applicants and took care to share each resume with the teams best suited to evaluate how their unique skillsets could contribute to WGI’s mission, both now and in the future.

Perhaps even more impactful was the opportunity to deepen our relationship with FDOT leadership and fellow industry leaders.
