In this video, we spend some time with the MEP Engineering team, located primarily in our Austin, TX office, to learn more about their work and their team!
The MEP Engineering team is part of WGI's Buildings Division. They are responsible for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design of new and existing structures. They handle the design for air conditioning and ventilation systems, the power and lighting systems, and the plumbing systems.
After learning about the hard work that goes into designing systems for buildings, we also followed along as the team enjoyed some team-building at one of their recent projects, Butler Park Pitch and Putt.

Matthew Johnson is a Mechanical Engineer that has been with WGI for over 5 years. When we asked him what he enjoyed about his work, he stated, "I think that MEP is a really cool field and a really great opportunity to be able to see your designs come to life and be a part of the community that you're a part of."
Electrical Engineer Marissa Lara added, "We have so many different projects that we're working on at the same time, so it never really gets stale for me. That's what I like about working here -- every day seems different." She went on to talk about her professional growth since joining the firm and learning from her co-workers over the past two years.
