Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott is only the second hotel to open in Wellington, FL; home of the Winter Equestrian Festival, the largest and longest-running equestrian festival in the world, hosting riders from 52 countries and all 50 states.
Construction was completed just one year ago [December 2018], and a Grand-opening was held in late January 2019, at only the second hotel to be built in Wellington, FL, a village with a population of around 65,000.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, located at 10616 Forest Hill Boulevard, near the Mall at Wellington Green, provides 107 guestrooms along with a business center, a 24-hour fitness center, free on-site parking, an outdoor pool, and a fire pit. The hotel is also a pet-friendly hotel and includes an on-site designated pet-walking area overlooking the 10-acre lake adjacent to the hotel.
WGI provided planning and site plan design services for the Fairfield Inn & Suites Project, working with the landowner to obtain the entitlements for the hotel use along with obtaining site plan and architectural review approval, as well as assistance with permitting efforts.
Wellington, FL is well-known around the world as a destination for equestrians, with a season that generally runs from November through April, but Wellington is also the host of several national tournaments for sporting events like field hockey and soccer, along with several national tournaments for sporting events being held in the nearby 1,700-acre Okeeheelee Park, just a few miles away from the Fairfield Inn & Suites hotel.
