The landscape architecture team also designed various activity programs throughout the property, each with its own character. Highlights include a grand arrival area adorned with accent pavers and formal palm trees, a memory garden enclosed by colorful tropical plantings, and three private courtyards with meandering pathways formed by ornamental grasses. Additionally, a re-imagined waterfront walking experience surrounds the new storm retention area, providing a tranquil setting for residents to enjoy nature.

Expanding on healthcare offerings to provide residents with a full continuum of care, the endeavor includes the addition of 92 Independent Living apartments equipped with enhanced assisted living and memory care services. The Waterford’s revitalized campus offers a vibrant, active lifestyle for residents, with amenities and spaces designed to cater to diverse health needs.

The redevelopment brings a host of new and improved amenities designed to enhance the resident experience. Memory Care Gardens have been thoughtfully integrated into the new Memory Care residences, ensuring a serene and supportive environment for those with cognitive impairments. Additionally, accessible outdoor and rooftop amenities, along with substantial landscape enhancements, provide spaces for relaxation, recreation, and socialization.

WGI's pivotal role in the success of The Waterford’s redevelopment was highlighted by our mission - to create a cost-effective and comprehensive site solution that met various jurisdiction requirements while enhancing the overall resident experience. As such, our team of experienced professionals provided full design services for Lifespace Communities, working in close collaboration with the architecture team from THW Design.
Seamless Integration of Services
Our multidisciplinary expertise allowed us to deliver a cohesive and functional site plan, incorporating civil engineering, landscape architecture, structural engineering, and MEP services. One of the standout features of our involvement was the innovative rooftop amenity design atop the new garage structure. This space was meticulously planned and executed, offering residents a unique outdoor environment.
