On Wednesday, April 10th, 675 spirited participants from 44 local South Florida organizations laced up their running shoes and gathered at the starting line for the highly anticipated 2024 West Palm Beach Lexus Corporate Run.
Among them stood a team representing WGI, poised and ready to showcase their strength, camaraderie, and vibrant spirit.
The Lexus Corporate Run isn’t just another 5K race; it’s an institution in South Florida, deeply ingrained in the region’s running culture.
Originating in 1985 as part of the Manufacturers Hanover Corporate Challenge race series, it has since grown into one of the nation’s largest 5K races. Drawing in local enthusiasts and fitness aficionados alike, the event embodies the essence of community, health, and friendly competition.
This year, WGI made its mark on the race with an impressive showing across various categories.
The men’s team, fueled by determination and teamwork, clinched first place among all participating companies, boasting an outstanding overall time of 01:36:15. Leading the charge was none other than WGI’s CEO, David Wantman, PE, whose blistering pace earned him the title of the fastest CEO in the competition, crossing the finish line with a remarkable time of 24:05.
Individual excellence was also on full display, with Christian Stewart representing WGI admirably by securing the 9th position overall with an impressive time of 21:59. Meanwhile, Lisa Nisenson showcased her tenacity and skill, emerging as WGI’s fastest individual female with a commendable time of 32:21.
But WGI’s achievements didn’t stop there.
The creative team added a splash of color to the event, securing the 2nd place spot in the ‘Most Colorful T-Shirt Design’ competition, showcasing their artistic flair, team spirit, and creativity.
Beyond the thrill of competition, the day was marked by the bonds of camaraderie and the joy of spending quality time together outside the office.
From cheering each other on along the racecourse to indulging in delicious crepes, every moment was a testament to the strong sense of community and friendship that defines WGI.
As the sun set on the 2024 West Palm Beach Lexus Corporate Run, WGI stood tall among the competition, embodying the values of teamwork, excellence, and camaraderie.
With hearts full of pride and memories to cherish, the team looks forward to future challenges and opportunities to shine brightly together.
