The 151 West Ohio Street Parking Structure was constructed in the mid-1960s, incorporating parking above the Greyhound Bus Terminal. The parking structure provides parking on levels 2 through 7 for the grade level occupied space, which was renovated into commercial office space. Additional grade level parking is available in the North Bay. The structural system consists of a cast-in-place conventionally reinforced concrete beam and slab system.
WGI conducted a condition assessment of the structure to determine the level of deterioration and make repair recommendations. The restoration included concrete beam, column, and slab repairs and waterproofing repairs such as sealant/expansion joint replacement and waterproofing above the occupied space. In addition to typical structural restoration work, the project included numerous renovation items such new parking equipment and revenue control system, elevator renovation, exterior signage, façade coatings, new rollup security door, and new building exterior at the new office space. The project was extremely successful as the improved aesthetics, added security features, and elimination of leaking resulted in increased tenant interest in the facility.
• This project was the winner of the 2002 International Concrete Repair Institute Award of Merit.
