The Bulkley Building, located in the theater district of downtown Cleveland, Ohio, is an eight-story steel-framed building constructed circa 1920. The exterior walls are constructed of limestone cladding, a terra cotta cornice, and punched aluminum framed windows.
WGI was retained to survey and evaluate the condition of the entire terra cotta cornice at the building’s south elevation. We observed corrosion of embedded steel components, displaced terra cotta units, cracked and spalled terra cotta and limestone, cracked and deteriorated mortar joints, and deteriorated coatings and flashing. WGI prepared a condition survey report.
