WGI was selected by Clemson University to develop a Comprehensive Parking and Transportation Master Plan that would serve as a component of the Clemson University Campus Master Plan. The effort focused primarily on parking and transit issues on campus but also considered transportation issues affecting the greater Clemson area that was also served by Clemson Area Transit.
WGI was supported in this engagement by two specialist firms. UrbanTrans and Connetics Transportation Group addressed issues related to the transit system, alternate transportation modes and opportunities for parking demand reduction through transportation demand management initiatives.
WGI and Connetics were subsequently engaged to analyze financial options and additional modifications to the shuttle service. The follow-up process involved additional workshops with various constituencies of the campus community.
• Analyze current parking system sufficiency and parallel transportation system audit
• Project future parking needs based on anticipated campus development and the redistribution of population within the campus
• Create a parking and transportation master plan that included transportation demand management strategies
