The Lake Street Garage is the first multi-story parking structure on the Colorado State University campus. It consists of four levels offering 873 parking spaces for students and campus staff. The facility incorporates approximately 20,000-square feet of office and retail space. The Parking Services Office relocated to the southwest corner of the Lake Street Garage.
As part of the university’s “green” initiative, the garage includes more than 9,000-square feet of photovoltaic panels and is constructed on established land to help conserve green space. The university received LEED Gold certification for the project.
This project won an Award of Excellence from the International Parking Institute.
• Garage 100 percent powered by sustainable energy sources, including energy generated by on-site solar power
• Stormwater detained and treated on site via bio-swales incorporated into the site landscape design
• Design elements of the facility include architectural precast concrete, anodized aluminum, glass and an abundance of natural stone masonry
• A parking guidance system (PGS) with occupancy detection and red/green/ amber/blue LED lighting at every covered parking space speeds up space finding and provides continuous monitoring of garage occupancy and usage
