The Downtown Denver Auraria Campus is home to the Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver and the University of Colorado at Denver, serving over 40,000 students.
WGI provided structural engineering and parking design consulting services for the parking garage located on the corner of Walnut and 5th Streets, north of the Administration Building. The garage facility includes one level of office/retail space along the Larimer Street frontage. An over-height loading area capable of accommodating large trucks is provided inside the garage for the retail space. There are 5 EV charging stations on the ground floor. Hourly and permit parking is available in the garage, both of which are linked to vehicle license plates. Vehicle-mounted cameras and license plate recognition (LPR) technology enable the campus staff to enforce parking limits.
WGI also helped establish the design and performance criteria for the lighting, including the required locations, illuminance, and uniformity.
