The Corporate Service Center II Building (CSCII), constructed circa 1990, is a three-story office building. The building’s exterior walls consist of a combination of clay brick masonry with concrete masonry backup walls and aluminum framed windows and doors. Isolated leaks within the interior of the building were reported.
WGI reviewed the exterior brick masonry, including exterior exploratory excavations to review concealed conditions within the exterior brick masonry walls to identify restoration needs. Corrosion of lintels, flashing deficiencies, cracked and deteriorated mortar joints, sealant distress at expansion joints, efflorescence, and staining within the brick masonry were observed. WGI provided remedial design, bidding, and construction administration services to implement the recommended repairs to the curtain wall and brick masonry. The recurrent water infiltration into the building was halted.
