The parking structure and plaza topping were in poor condition due to corrosion damage from deicing salts. Slabs, beams and columns were spalled from corrosion damage. The restoration included:
- Complete removal and replacement of the supported parking slabs, the plaza topping and drainage system, mechanical lines, and lighting
- Slabs were completely redesigned to improve slopes for drainage and to increase quality of the concrete, including adding corrosion inhibitors
- Installation of an exposed-aggregate concrete topping at the plaza. Underneath the topping, a new hot-applied waterproofing membrane was installed along with a drainage layer to direct water out of the plaza areas
- Installation of a ventilation system with heated makeup air for temperature control
- Installation of new signage and mechanical system
- Deck coating, painting, and landscaping
