WGI provided engineering for the master planning of the Lone Star Brewery District redevelopment. WGI worked closely with ownership, Lake Flato Architects, and OJB Landscape to develop a master plan for the 32 acre urban infill site. Services included survey, platting, traffic engineering, master plan utility design, project phasing, district corridor design, and ROW improvements. WGI coordinated with the San Antonio River Authority (SARA) on opportunities for direct access to the adjacent San Antonio River trail network. WGI collaborated with CoSA public works on the Lone Star Blvd. redesign to include multiuse bike and pedestrian routes, site access, railroad crossing upgrades, and intersection design coordination with concurrent bond project improvements on Probandt and Roosevelt.
WGI initiated CPS Energy design for overhead power line relocations along Lone Star Blvd. and preliminary capacity studies for the ultimate development of the Lone Star District. WGI worked closely with San Antonio’s Office of Historic Preservation to identify historically significant structures and site elements early in the design and planning process. WGI provided design and documentation, which helped the project secure TIRZ funding to support public improvements for the Lone Star District.
