The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FFWCC) Palm Beach County Shooting Sports Complex is a 150-acre site located on the former Mecca Farms property, east of the J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area. WGI provided survey, environmental assessment, traffic engineering, site plan assistance, onsite engineering design, onsite water and sewer utilities design, off-site engineering design, permitting, assistance with bidding, and construction services for a complex comprised of over 200 target positions between gun and rifle ranges, trap and skeet fields and a sporting clays course. WGI provided surveying services that included boundary, topographic, tree surveys, FPL easement creation, construction staking, and as-built surveys. Static LiDAR laser scanning was used to detail the dimensions of the interior for 10,000 square-foot clubhouse. Other onsite structures such as the control building, administration building, and a maintenance building were measured conventionally for the as-built survey. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) imagery was acquired and orthorectified to provide FFWCC a current condition assessment to be used in correlation with the as-built survey and for future map exhibits.
