University of Kentucky Parking and Transportation Master Plan

University of Kentucky (UK) is experiencing significant growth, which will continue to increase demand placed upon the university’s parking and transportation systems at the same time that parking supply will be eroded to facilitate renovation, expansion and new facility construction.

With these mounting pressures on the parking and transit infrastructure, UK sought to develop a comprehensive parking and transportation master plan to inform the future of campus access and mobility.

WGI provided a study of the parking and transportation systems on campus and developed a 10-year master plan to address campus access and mobility needs.

Scope of Services

• Detail current and future parking supply and demand
• Evaluate adequacy and efficiency of existing system
• Facilitate development of guiding principles that define campus access parameters and institutional priorities and inform strategic planning efforts
• Recommend initiatives and fee strategies designed to increase parking supply, offset parking losses, reduce parking demand or address campus access and mobility needs
• Develop a 10-year prioritized plan integrated with a comprehensive financial plan to address campus access needs
