This week WGI associates presented the revised Herman Massey Park design to the Downtown Tampa public on behalf of the City of Tampa (Parks & Recreation). WGI was selected to provide Landscape Architecture and Civil Engineering design services for Herman Massey Park for the City. Herman Massey Park is an urban park located in Downtown Tampa.
On Monday, July 15th the second of two public meetings was held to present the new design developments for the park. WGI’s Landscape Architecture team further developed the design with public input provided in the previous community meeting. New site features were presented, allowing another opportunity for the team to get feedback from the community as they move into developing construction documentation. Associates on this project have worked closely with the City in developing the design thus far and the refined design was received well by the public.
Once again, WGI’s GIS team developed an online version (Story Map) for public feedback using a GIS application and provided a QR Code and URL, which was included on the boards and feedback sheet hard copies, so that the public can review the project information and provide input at their convenience. The online public input page will expire in two weeks and at that point the new data is reviewed and incorporated in the design development.
WGI is looking forward to moving into the next design phases and continuing the positive impacts this will have in the community!
