We're proud to announce that WGI received a DBIA Florida Region Honor Award in the Transportation - Roadway Category for the Kernan Boulevard Widening from Atlantic Boulevard to McCormick Road project in Jacksonville, FL.
We collaborated with owner Jacksonville Transportation Authority and build partner Superior Construction on this 2.73-mile project, reconstructing Kernan Boulevard into a four- and six-lane divided highway. In addition to roadway construction, this project included a new storm sewer system, management facilities, a 12' wide multi-use path, utility relocations, traffic signal design and modifications, and lighting enhancements. This design-build project was completed six months ahead of schedule and on-budget.

JTA's project manager, Angie Williams, was pleased with the project, saying,
